2018 FUTURITY
Following the December 3 meeting, the ICHA board of directors held two more meetings in December to nail down futurity plans for 2018. We are excited to announce the new dates for the futurity show. It is moving to Labor Day weekend, August 31-September 3 at National Cattle Congress in Waterloo, Iowa. The schedule will change with the addition of three weekend shows to be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A fresh practice in the show arena for the futurity horses will be held on Friday, following the first weekend show. Monday will be the finals only for the futurity, derby and classic classes. Did we mention FREE parking? Mark your calendars and watch for details.

NCHA CHALLENGER SERIES
Our first NCHA Challenger Series Show, scheduled for January 6, had to be cancelled due to our extreme low temperatures we were all not enjoying as the calendar clicked into 2018. Our first show now will be on Saturday, February 3 at Kirchner Cutting Horses in Clarinda. We will hold our annual banquet, membership meeting and election that evening at the Ice House in Clarinda. Watch the website and Facebook for details but get it marked on your calendars! We intend to offer more Challenger Series shows this year, as it seems our members enjoy the shows.

Travis and Vanette Grover will host our St. Patrick’s Day NCHA Challenger Series Cutting at their place in Cresco on Saturday, March 17. Details are on our website.

GET WELL SOON
We wish Denny Benson well as he recovers from hip replacement surgery in December. We also send good wishes to Jerry Williams, recovering from a hard spill he took right before Christmas that resulted in some broken ribs and a concussion.
